There’s a regular there who 65 years of 1954 2019 Elvis Presley thank you for your music shirt. He’s in his 50s. When I first started there a few months back, J was customer of the week. I came to learn very quickly that J would try to take advantage of the workers and our policies. He would come in multiple times a day and claim he never got his free drink to the point where the staff would have to leave notes at the register to make sure he was not given more than he was supposed to have.
In the weeks and months that followed, he would come in and order a 65 years of 1954 2019 Elvis Presley thank you for your music shirt, then claim at the hand off that it wasn’t what he wanted, in order to get more drinks. He comes into our store anywhere from 5–10 times a day. Sometimes he stays in there for hours, sometimes he just comes in frequently. When he comes in, he often tries to get a ‘refill’ price, even though he hadn’t been there for 4–5 hours since his last drink. Now, I’m pretty easy to get along with. I have a high tolerance for other people’s bullsh*t but I’m somewhat of a sarcastic asshole in person. I say some pretty mean things and everyone will laugh because they think I’m joking – and I also don’t want to lose my job – but I usually mean what I say. I’ll just say it with a friendly demeanor, and a smile.
