She wouldn’t let me go and they literally had to pry her hand off of Alice Cooper Christmas tree shirt. It was hell. She only did 3 days of her alotted 7 day treatment because the doctor saw she was fine and sent her home. No medication, no diagnoses, nothing. I thought everything was good after that, right? Not so. The March after I get a call stating that they didn’t see the paperwork for my daughters mandatory therapy sessions, needing to be at least 6 weeks total, 2 times a week. Before they’d stop investigating me. Even though she wasn’t officially diagnosed with depression, they took it upon themselves to put that she had been.
In fact, therapist congratulated me on having such a level headed 12 year old Alice Cooper Christmas tree shirt and everything with me, including sex and other embarrassing subjects. Which is exactly how I raise my children, no judgement, no subject is off limits; I’m here for problem solving and openness. Her diagnoses was that my daughter was simply a typical 12 year old who didn’t realize how people could twist a subject to go horribly awry. Now, I do get that the school has to take students safety seriously, but what I don’t get is why they don’t have common sense about these things. There was only one student saying she had said she wanted to die and hurt others, there were 4 more backing up my daughter because they had been present for the conversation and she had never said that.
