I was eating at a place in Milan that I’ve unfortunately forgotten the Baby Groot hug Green Bay Packers shirt and spilled soup on myself. Not a huge amount, just enough to be annoying. I went to the bathroom to try and clean myself up. By the time I was out of the bathroom, the restaurant had sent out to a local store for an assortment of dresses that they gave me the option to change into. All four were in my size (which they had correctly guessed just by looking at me), and all were choices that I might have made for myself. They made it clear that I didn’t have to change, but the option was there for my convenience if I wanted. I chose a dress, changed, and got back to my table just as the next course came out.
I don’t know if this is something that’s Baby Groot hug Green Bay Packers shirt, since I spill on myself about once every five years, and usually when I make fajitas at home. (I do seem to remember the original Sign of the Dove in NY doing something similar for me in the 80s, but I was a kid then and don’t recall 100% – my dad might have requested it in that case.) But to me, it’s the kind of thing that always sets truly high-end places apart – not the fashion, but the attention to detail, and the ability to anticipate your needs before you even know you need them.
